I have waxed my legs for the past ten years, so needless to say- pain is not an issue. That said, I was very happy with the epil because it takes at least half the time compared to waxing...that's like two legs for the time of one! It's also much easier than waxing- just plug her in and go. The negative difference I saw was that I needed to exfoliate more in the shower to prep for the next round of epilating. It seems that waxing removes more dead skin while the epil solely removes the hairs. Also, it seemed like some of the hairs broke off at the skin, making them grow back in at a faster rate than the hairs that were fully pulled by the roots. This resulted in a light but early crop of hair succeeded by another later harvest. Nonetheless, my goal is as little maintenance as possible and this seems to trump both razors and waxes.
