I have super fine, very light colored hair on my upper lip and a bit on my cheeks next to my hairline. It's so fine/light that under artificial light, I can hardly see it and this makes tweezing next to impossible. I have had 2 tweezer-type facial epilators and neither one would really do much due to the hair being so fine.

Years ago, I had an electric epilady that was much like this spring and it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, they no longer make those and that's too bad because it was less painful and much faster than using this spring.

However, I do really like this spring thing. The pro's are that you can use this virtually anywhere and I find that it's very easy to use as well. I'm so happy that I won't ever have to wax again! The waxing left my sensitive skin extremely reddened and it would actually take a day or two before my face returned to normal and it was a huge pain to apply the wax next to my hairline and not get any of it in my hair. I don't have that problem with the spring. Another nice thing is I can throw this in my purse and if I missed a spot, I can easily and quickly take care of it.

The downside to this device is that since it is slower than an epilator, it's more painful (at least to me anyway) but if you just grit your teeth and keep at it, you get a little mini endorphin rush and long lasting results too. One other thing that's a bit of a downer is that since it takes both hands to use the spring, you can't pull your skin taut while using it on your upper cheek areas and even though I put my hair in a ponytail prior to using, I still have those "baby" tendrils that won't go back in the pony elastic and I'm not able to hold them out of the way while using the spring so have to use muliple hair clips to make sure I don't get that head hair tangled in the spring.

Bottom line: If the fine people at Epilady decided to once again make the old style spring epilator, I'd definitely buy another but I'd also keep this spring for touch-ups when I'm away from home. The spring really does work, even if your facial hair is very fine.
